WHERE IS JOHN PETRIC??

Could it be that the hated and scorned The Other Paper reviewer has been forced out??? Browsing through the music section of the other paper today, his columns are no where to be found. All the music reviews are penned by Joel Oliphint. They did add a few more angry letters to the editor. Did they finally listen to readers that were sick and tired of his one sided condescending reviews? If anyone has more info on this situation, please share.

Yikes.

Heres a response to an old, heavy-handed one-sided post:
No, John was not forced out - the Other Paper, unlike many rather mealy-mouthed media outlets in Columbus, Ohio - sees value in the naysayer and provacateur role he provides. Besideswhich, he remains the most entertaining of all Columbus reviewers - despite the sneering passive-aggressives like yourself who love humanity, & believe in free speech -*until*-someone like him disagrees with your own antiseptic suburban worldview - whereupon every manner of childish spite, disproportionate anger and scorn is heaped upon him.

C'mon, folks - he's a MUSIC CRITIC. He is supposed to do what he does which um, by the way includes - well, criticism.

Oh, and BTW, as for your scorn and whatnot; he LOVES that sh*t; its his validation.

Agreed. JP rules. He's one of the few interesting writers in C-bus. Some people just need to be told how much the music they like sucks. I see John as more of a public service than a music critic. Can't wait to read the Nickleback review...
