SO MAY-JAH

The images are humorous and ironic," Beckham said. "You can't be afraid to experiment with fashion, especially when working with Marc and Juergen — you have to push the envelope and show a different side."Marc is a genius," she added. "I completely trusted his vision and the opportunity to work with Juergen again after so many years was a privilege." As for Beckham, she was hard-pressed to pick a favorite image from the campaign."Truth be told, I love them all," she said. "If I have to pick favorites, it's the package series: me coming out of the box in the gray knit dress shot with the hat, as well as the image of the oversize shopping bag. Certainly, if you can't get locked inside a Marc Jacobs store, then trapped inside a Marc bag has got to be the next best thing.

SINGLE AND LOVINGIT
KATE Hudson was enjoying her solo status at the dinner party thrown the other night by hotelier Jason Pomeranc and his love, Dolce & Gabbana exec Ali Wise. The petite actress came with several girlfriends to Jonathan Morr's new Bond Street restaurant inside Pomeranc's new Thompson Hotel on Sunset Boulevard. "She is so happy being single and wasn't interested in guys," our spy said. Too bad, because Pete Yorn, Matthew Perry and Scott Caan would have gladly flirted with her. Also at the sit-down dinner were Rose McGowan and fiancé Robert Rodriguez, Ali Larter and fiancé Hayes McArthur, Giovani Ribisi and Topher Grace

SCOTT STORCH WHAT!?
THE list of creditors owed money by music producer Scott Storch keeps getting longer. He's now in arrears on taxes to the state of Florida. His Palm Island house in Miami is listed in tax records with past-due amounts totaling $435,602 dating back to 2006. Just yesterday, we wrote that a Miami art-gallery owner had to pay a visit to his mansion to reclaim a $7,500 painting Storch had hung on his wall for four months but hadn't paid for
COLOUR PURPLE
Shrieks erupted at the Broadway Theatre just before the curtain rose Wednesday night for "The Color Purple." It turned out to be the talk-show queen, a producer of the musical, entering with her gal pal Gayle King and Newark Mayor Cory Booker*. They joined Robert De Niro and Grace Hightower to witness the roof-raising Broadway debut of Chaka Khan. In Act 2, when the two leading ladies find happiness, fulfillment and financial success after becoming lesbian lovers (in a bathtub), Oprah's eyes welled with tears. After the show, Rich honored Khan at her Fifth Avenue penthouse, resplendent with purple flowers. Boogieing down were Patti LaBelle (in an Ascot-ready bonnet,) B.B. Winans (also now in the show), Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, Janice Combs, Richard Turley and deejay Donna D'Cruz, who was rushing off to Las Vegas to spin for the "40th" birthday splash for nightclub queen Amy Sacco¹

VALENTINO'S TOP MODELS
For the final ad campaign to be published before Valentino retires, the brand tapped a top model duo of the Nineties — Amber Valletta and Shalom Harlow — as well as Raquel Zimmermann, Anja Rubik, Michael Gandolfi and Oriol Elcacho. Harper's Bazaar editor at large Brana Wolf styled the colorful campaign, shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin at a private home in Los Angeles. Raul Martinez, CEO and executive creative director, said the campaign was shot in L.A. because of the connection Valentino has had with Hollywood throughout his 40-year career. "I think one of the key pieces that we were striving for with this campaign was to make the Valentino woman feel more grounded, still stylized but not totally untouchable," Martinez said. "You still feel the glamour that is the Valentino brand, but it's done in a more contemporary way." The campaign breaks in the February issue of Vanity Fair
